What is a Yoga Therapist?

Yoga Therapists are certified by the International Association of Yoga Therapists. They have done a minimum of 800 hours of training in Yoga philosophy, anatomy, biomechanics, brain and nervous system science, healthy lifestyle principles, movement and rehabilitation, Ayurvedic education, mental health training, disease pathology, somatic and embodiment skills, therapeutic relationship training, trauma informed support, restorative and meditation practices, pain care techniques.

As a Certified Yoga Therapist I am uniquely positioned to help you make connections within your mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual self. A whole body approach to healing, through listening, questioning, and observing.

Yoga Therapy sessions are individualized and tailored to you. You can expect a formal assessment and intake process. Yoga techniques are tailored to address specific health needs throughout our sessions together.

Connie has been a yoga teacher for children and adults for the past six years. Connie holds a Bachelor of Education, a Bachelor of Arts, and a Masters in Education. Connie is an active member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists (C-IAYT qualifying) and is a Registered Naturopath with The Academy of Naturopaths and Naturotherapists of Canada. Connie is certified as a 500 hour yoga teacher and is a registered i-Rest teacher who holds Trauma Aware and Ayurveda certifications. Connie is skilled and experienced in working with children, teens, and adults. She is particularly passionate about working with anyone suffering from stress and burnout, grief or trauma. Connie is equally dedicated to helping children and teens thrive through the integration of yoga and strives to give youth the tools to be able to navigate the world. Her goal is to empower others with the right tools that will help them thrive.
